What ‘focal length’ are our eyes? That’s a question we hear often and it’s generally considered to be around 50mm. When talking camera lenses this is often c…

get 1.4 aperture. Kindly advice soon.
the best tutorial channel!
Thanks I been frustrated trying to figure out a shot. Now I know how.
Hi – no it’s the same whatever camera you’re using. This about the lens not
the camera. Hope this helps..
Would a crop sensor make much of a difference in these examples?
Thankyou.. Sidenote : Length spelt incorrectly in description 🙂
you are using nikon dslr..and if i using another dslr is it defferent??
another great lesson…
Okay, great.
really good teacher seriously i’m learning alot thank you ! i guess you are
underrated only 5000 views ??
I was wondering your opinion Mike – am looking to be getting a prime lens
for portrait work and general family gatherings. It’s between the 35mm F1.8
and the 50mm F1.8. The only problem is, my camera crops to the value of
x1.5. Not an issue for the 35 as I can find a 35 DX lens, whereas there are
only FX 50mm for Nikon, but I’m worried that a 35 might distort portraiture
– giving someone a 10 foot long nose or something – would it? Would a
better option be to go for a 28mm FX so it crops to 50?

A bit – I was using a crop sensor (DX). Maybe I should have said it’s
around 35-60 depending on your sensor size.
great videos, I’m learning a lot through them.
She has a wonderful smile 🙂
For portraiture with a soft background you really need longer than 50mm –
100 or more would be better because depth of field shrinks as the lens gets
longer. And longer lenses’ narrow field of view concentrate on the people
more than their surroundings. Search ‘Focal length changes 3 things’ on our
channel. I’d go for the flexibility of a zoom rather than a prime. Primes
are better quality if you really look for it – but not much. – Mike
Im finding these short videos are greatly helping me. Understanding how
lenses work is mind boggling at times. I took an Amateur Course but it was
too rushed when we got to these. Thnx so much……John/Canada.
Hi Deepak – I’d go for the 1.4 if they are similar price and quality –
though the difference between 1.4 and 1.8 is minimal.
And I mean close-up portraiture with focal blurring as opposed to “in
context” portraiture such as what you did with Natasha in this video
against the rock.
wide angle lens look like a fisheye and the color is off the standard look
better
I have a weird with the new firmware (1.17). Check out my channel for the
vid.
Hi Guys! Please note that the comparison video was shot with the v0.59
firmware. The new firmware does an even better job at displaying accurate
colours + it’s possible to tweak the colors the way you like it with the
windows GUI.
Nice !! can i tweak it with Apple PC ?
The wider angle is nice, but the standard definitely looks better. Also it
seems as if the wide angle lens puts some sort of red effect over the
entire image which is pretty annoying imo.
Overall, the standard lens looks better than the wide angle.
I agree. The standard lens does look better. Was thinking of picking a
wide lens model up but I’ll just stick to my standard one.
well just to mansion. the car at 2:41 is it blue or more black ?? (the FORD
) the standard lens is brighter
