  1. it’s unfortunate that DRTV completely fails to mention that 30% of those
pixels are totally USELESS, since no lens can resolve that much anyways.
at most, 99% of the people are only going to utilize 25MPix for the image,
and the rest for fuzz. and the lenses Kai was using are AT BEST able to
only resolve 18MPix, so only HALF of the camera sensor. yeah, not really
useful for “insane detail” or “ridiculous cropping”

  2. I like all the jealous guys comments on here, nothing better to do than
make from of videos, get a life or a girlfriend and maybe you won’t have to
make fun of this guy Who is having fun making videos

  3. I bought this piece of shit and i don’t advise any one to do it.
1000 shots and the spots were all over the sensor , 6000 shots and the
images are trash, unusable!!!!(never changed the lens , same 50mm from
    nikon)
As i unfortunaly live in a third world country (portugal) , i have to send
it to Barcelona (Spain)just a couple of thousand miles from my home just to
clean the shitty sensor of this piece of shit camera that i just bought a
    month ago.
The best part, is that i have to wait about 30 days and of course, have to
    pay for it.
Nice nikon service center and very nice camera..
DO NOT BUY THIS CAMERA!!!!! If you google it , i’m not the only one with
this problem. Don’t make the same mistake i did . Again , DONT BUY THIS
    CRAP!!

  4. yeah…..i still think the 5d mark III is an advantage over the D800/D800E
, it also packs a higher price , and the 5D will be around a heck of alot
longer than the D800 , dont take this the wrong way , i had a look at both
very closely before deciding to upgrade to the 5d mark III , yes the 36mp
was hard to pass up , but in the end i had to pick the one that was right
for me the 5D Mark III , the next upgrade will have to be medium format

  5. We take a look at the new Nikon D800, prod crisp packets with a tripod,
take bokehlicious photos in the dark and compare the D800 to the D700.
    Enjoy!

  6. No friend the new cameras are not better. Find me a machine better than an
8×10 Tachihara drum scanned with 100-400 ISO Fuji emulsions in a Heidelberg
Tango. I doubt there is one. And actually no photographer sacrifices the
lighting setup for the camera. It’s the other way around. If you want to be
a gear masturbator fine, do it. But don’t tell me or other experience
photographers that we need the latest 16000 ISO machine to take a photo. We
didnt 30 years ago – we dont now.

  7. Friend, I dont have no adverts, only my videos here. What are you speaking
about? Only a noob like you would think that MP and cameras make a
difference. They do not. Ask a carpenter to build a house – do you really
think he cares about the specs of his hammer? He doesnt care about specs –
only about getting the job done. Thats how we pro photographers think. Only
kids with time care about specs. Watch my video about GWCs. The Fotobro

  8. It’s so hard to decide when you have such great options to choose from.

I also wish Canon would just freaking listen about the flip and twist
screens. I switched from the 7D to the 70D and I have used that flip out
screen in almost 95% of everything I have used it for. Even when I am using
both cameras, I’ve got the screen flipped out on the 70D so I can watch it
while I’m standing next to the 7D with my audio setup.

As far as color is concerned, I forked out the 15 bucks or so for the
Visioncolor and Visiontech profiles. I had used the Cinestyle for a while,
but I much prefer the visioncolor. Far more manageable.

As always, a fantastic vid. Thanks!

  9. I just bought a D800 with 24-70mm FX lens. I shoot weddings and events.
Hands down color accuracy is much better in any nikon camera. Great video
    thanks

  10. this was an awesome review the only thing i think its missing is the
    following :
1 you should have specified which objectives you used for each camera
2 you used for the burst test an old slow sd card you should have used the
best you could find for test proposes since it should be the camera
bottlenecking and not the card considering images with the d800 suppose to
be bigger, watching digital rev the nikon seemed to perform better in burst
    speed of the canon!!
except for this 2 points i think this video was very helpful keep it up!

  11. dave what lens did you use and why did you use two different lens for
    comparison
you could of used same brand and size lens one Nikon and one canon mount.
I have the D800 and my wife has the 5D and in low light I can push the 800
a lot better than the 5D it really come down to personal choice and feel I
think plus the d800 can use any lens the 5d can’t which I think is an
important issue that nobody seems to mention
