You said what I’ve been thinking for the past few months. If I had to do it over again I would definitely start with the QAV400 or maybe 500. Or maybe even both! I really like what they’re doing with the “clean” and “dirty” parts of the frame. Most QAV videos I’ve watched are incredibly stable.
Hi Dennis.. nice vid… actually IMO i have never had to do any post production reducing of movement on my videos… i have found that the jello effect comes more from the platform that you are using more than anything… i ALWAYS balance my props but never need to go further than that. Use a good frame and you will see the jello goes AWAY !!! Hoverthings frames or even the QAV frames are great if you want jello free video with NO POST production anti vib…. 😉 just IMO…
Jacob, thanks for the feedback. It’s greatly appreciated.
Thank you for the info. Love your videos. They are very simple, informative, and helpful! Jacob B
I have a video here that walks through my gain setup: /watch?v=feyiB87V0ag
But for basic pitch/roll I have 141% and for attitude pitch and roll 164% so we’re in the ballpark of each other.
I have a F-450 using those same exact earplugs and my video is exactly the same. I tried adjusting gyro gains and found that the video smoothed out some when I added expo and upped the gain to 135% on roll and pitch. What are your gain settings for your naza? I know it’s a different frame, but I’m just curious what other people are using.
I haven’t seen that foam, but will look it up. I’ve been using Kyosho Zeal lately, which is really good. Thanks for the tip and I’ll see what I can find out.
I put the gyro foam at the back and beneath the go pro 3 and add the rubber band. Hardly any vibrations! I use the cheap gyro foam from Hobbyking (the one with the yellow paper cover).
Great. Those are the ones I ordered. Thank you.
Thanks for liking! 🙂
I use E-props 10×5’s like you are thinking of!
Awesome video. Loved it and thanks for the info. What size e-props are you flying with? I was looking at some 10x5s?
Hi,
Here is name of the video:
Björklinge 2013
I could take a photo of my rig, i use a foam layer, then a small layer of earbuds. 🙂
Hi, I use 9.5 inch and 4S batterys now. If you have TBS engines i think it’s a perfect combo of strenght, yet decently nice to ESC’s and motors.
Do you know how to balance the motors? look for it or PM me for a link, it’s really easy and you use a smartphone. Some people use their ears, but i’m not there yet! 🙂
I’ll PM you the videolinks, as youtube does not accept links in the comments.
Cheers
Thanks Ulf. I need to get some e-props as I’ve been looking at them for a while. What size and pitch do you fly with? What’s the name of your vid with no vibration? I’d like to see the results.
Get Graupners E-props, check motor balancing, and looosen the rubberband.
I got those tips from guys at multirotorforums, and the last video i made is vibrationfree! 🙂
Thanks for the tip. I need to do this, but do you find that you still need to balance them or do they come fairly well balanced? What diameter and pitch do you fly with?
For better vibration balance replace the cheap HK blades because they aren`t balanced well. With this modification you will see the most sucess in anti vibration balacing. I use carbon blades from BEVRC.com
You’re right I did. I’m doing some more testing with better mounting so I’m not mashing down the dampening material.
I think you squished them to much let them be unsquished and then just put them on top
I feel like this is a never-ending quest, but at least we’re making progress. Good luck with the Moongel. I’ll be interested in hearing if it helps you out.
