  1. Do you know if this camera with a big enough SD card will continuously
shoot video @1080p(and if on plugged in power) or has it got a limit where
it will cut the video off?

  2. I liked your video very much.It has style, color and a different but
interesting approach of reviewing the small sony i also own.Nice work!

  3. Awesome review Peter. Did you manipulate the frame rate down to 30fps, or
does youtube do that automatically? Just curious how it looks at 50/60.

  4. @GroovyVlog, just received this camera, two questions for you… Did you
notice there is lens wiggle which shifts when zooming? Also, slight stutter
in videos, especially when paning. Not sure if it does it in 30p.

  5. @catascouts For me, it last about 2hrs. Consider this though – I took the
camera to the Sade concert recently and although I got incredible video
quality footage, My battery was pretty much done by her last song. I didn’t
have enough juice to record her encore song. I was however, taking pictures
during the concert as well which played a major part in my battery
drainage. It really is somthing you will have to test out for yourself.
It’s a great camera.. just think about getting a 2nd battery

  6. I know this video is four years old but thanks for it. I just got this
camera for free. I had to buy a charger for 8 bucks. But i am looking
forward to using it. I havent even turned it on yet so you video answered
    alot of questions.

  7. I’ve had this camera for 3 years and when I just looked up the specs it’s
supposed to take 10 pics per second. Mine can take 1 per 3 seconds, is this
because my memory card is too slow?

  8. CAN I ATTACH DSC -HX9V A LAVELIER MICROPHONE ? PLEASE IT SHOES A S IT
DOES NOT HAVE A SOCKET PLEASE LET ME KNOW THIS URHENTLY
IF YOU CAN PLEASE HELP ME ON THIS .
I AM WAITING FOR IT . the concetor is for tripod
    not for micriphone .

  9. I have one of these, and while it’s an amazing camera, it does have some
real disadvantages, namely: Flash on the camera is useless, it over exposes
on every shot within 10 feet of camera. Mic is better than most, but in
concerts, it still will splatter a lot on playback. But worst of all, it’s
NOT durable…you drop this camera once and it’ll start effing up on you.
The lense cap now gets stuck, the CPU will hang-up and hard shut-down…I
once had a problem where the lense wouldn’t focus between 4x and 10x, then
it suddenly corrected itself…going back to Panasonic or Fujifilm for next
    purchase

  10. Hey, I’m having trouble with this camera’s videos. The format is AVCHD and
I can only view it in iMovie and then export it into QuickTime. However, in
QuickTime the quality appears to be much lower. Should it be? And when
uploading to YouTube a QuickTime video from this camera, the quality on
YouTube is at 460… How can I improve the quality for viewing on YouTube
    and on QuickTime? Thanks.

  11. i there any way to view my firmware number or details on this model, is it
possible to update firmware as i think the JPEG compression is too
much…has sony ever tried to check on this problem or not.?

  12. HX9V or HX20V? Outside of the camera performance, I’m really interesting in
video quality with big attention to the audio. thanks 🙂

  13. GPS Function can be disabled, no prob. I have two NP-FG1 batteries that
tell me 188 minutes. (NP-FG1 is info-lithium, tells you how much time is
left unlike the NP-BG1 that comes with the camera). This has been a great
camera to have, especially for video and if you have the settings right,
you can zoom in past the 16x to a digital 22x. I have taken it to Asia a
couple of times, it’s a little bulky but the pictures are great for a
non-SLR, the video on an HDTV will blow you away.

  14. just got the cam today (the gold one) and so far I am lovin it, the image
quality is superb… I’m still an amateur though, gotta read the manual for
other of its awesome features lol

  15. Great video man !, I’ve been looking at new cameras from Cannon & Nikon and
none of them seem to match the fractures & functions that this Sony can
match so it looks like I might be buying one

  16. Anyone help me with how to view the ‘3D’ photos ive taken with this. I have
a 3d sony tv too. I plugged the usb in tv and can view images just not sure
how to view 3d images. Maybe through my pc to tv with hdmi? Any help would
    be cool! Thx

  17. Great review. Have you tried the Fujifilm FinePix F550EXR? Do you think it
is comparable to the Sony HX9V? I would really appreciate if you reply 🙂
