Sony Alpha SLT-A33 Hands-on Review

We’ve received some Tweets asking us to review more Sony products. With the release of the A-33 and the A-55, we were presented with a couple of new Sony products to look at and they are certainly quite interesting products. They feature a translucent mirror that lets 70% of light through and 30% is bounced-up. As a result it benefits from a continuous phase detection autofocus. But how does it perform? Watch our review of the A-33 here. 1. Watch out maybe one day a “toy” might just prove to win. By calling something “lesser” and “never going to win” you lose sight that maybe one day it will actually win.

I don’t see sony beat nikon or canon true… but I see it gain a foothold as 3rd in market. It already has and that foothold will grow.

  2. If AF is on during video it is pretty much always on. It always will be trying to keep the focus. You even can pre set a target that it will keep tracking. Like a person 🙂

So yeah autofocus during video on the Sony SLT”s it works..

  3. hey digitalrev, i got this camera hand me down, and i want a nice battery grip. could you recomend one for me please! guys thumbs up so he can see i beg of youu!!(or recomend one please)

  4. in the autofocus in vieo mode, do we have to like pres and hold the shutter button to focus or is it kinda like a camcorder, can someone please reply, the only reason im holding off on buying it is because i don’t know that yet. thanks.

  5. why the hell do you say “LOL” so randomly like that. you did that in your fail responses to that guy that embarrassed you. by the way you spelled embarrassed wrong.

  6. All in all those choices are good. You might try picking up A55. Smaller, faster, and the video is good. You really don’t have a problem regarding the lens selection. I have Sony a77 and I liked it, happy and satisfied. Good grip too.

  7. alright.. pls help me out..

  9. I want to see a comparison between a DSLR and a DSLT camera in terms of image quality. Many people said the SLT mirror reduce image quality, that’s just a criticism. I wanna see a real and detail image comparison to justify that claim.
