  1. The LUMIX DMC GF3 does a pretty good job of capturing video – but may not offer as many options as a similarly priced 1080p camcorder. Please contact us via e-mail if you have additional questions: AskBH@BandH.com

  2. This is a great little camera more than equal to your tasks. It is now discontinued and no longer sold at B&H. Check out the: B&H # PADMCGX1KS or B&H #PADMCGF5KK or B&H # PADMCG3KK

  3. Which would you rather recommend: the GF3 or the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ48? Im a painter, and i need a good camera to take photos of paintings/exhibitions ect.

  4. @TheYellowFingerboard The G3 is the better choice for a few reasons; Has a viewfinder, a flip-out screen for better handling of extreme low or high camera angles, more resolution, accepts an external flash and a Built-in focus motor for faster focusing.

  5. @DrDhakna The Vario G was the original standard version of Panasonic?s 14-42mm lens. The Vario X is a much more compact model designed to maintain a low profile when mounted on the camera. It incorporates a special ?Nano Coating? to prevent ghosting and flare and has near silent autofocusing when recording videos as well as an electric powered zooming feature which is not very common, which is also beneficial when recording videos with the camera.

Both the G3 and GF3 are excellent micro 4/3rd cameras with interchangeable lens. Advantages of the G3 are: 15.8 MP vs 12 MP, an Electronic view finder, remote control option and the same image processor and impressive autofocus speed of the Lumix DMC-GH2.
