  1. you will always get these problems with bridge cameras, dont shoot videos so
i dont much care if it dont do them that well.just get a camcorder .. jeff
    ..

  2. This really helped me, I’m not a professional but everyone says I have the
potential. But for now I’m just making pictures as a hobby. Again this
    really helped me, Thank you.

  3. @waylonduscrack Thanks for your remark my friend, I found the auto focus
tended to jump all over the place ,I’m beginning to think I may have had a
dodgy example, as I had difficulty getting it into macro mode. It’s gone
    back now ! Phill

  4. Unfortunatley, viewers don’t know whether the comparison images are JPEGS
or RAW images. It may be helpful to note that the best image quality for
the HS20EXR can be found “outside” of the Auto settings and by setting the
AF mode to “center”. I’ve found that the high sharpness and high noise
reduction settings work well together as they tend to pereserve detail and
    control the digital artifacts.

  5. That depends totally on what you want to do, personally for photo quality
the 400D is superior , if you need hd video on a low budget then you have
little choice but I would go for a Canon dslr with video capability. The
advantage of the hs 20 is the telephoto capability but it’s a swine to use
with slow focus and a shutter lag. Phill

  6. Thanks for the helpful review, especially since most reviews talk about
pictures – I am torn between this and the panasonic lumix g1, the only
reason I considered this is the full 1080p video and high speed movie, but
I think I’ll go for the G1 (£30 difference). The third option is the sony
nex 3 for an extra £40, do you reckon I should go for that instead, due to
the aps-c sized sensor in comparioson to the micro four thirds one in the
    G1?

  7. I want to buy one, you said that you sell them on your website? Would I be
able to get one in november this year for my 17th birthday possibly or will
    they run out?

  8. @mrarachnid1 Hi Gary, If I understand you want to add some old lenses to
the s5700 which is a bridge camera that does not have a removable lens,
frankly if that’s the case I’m not sure what it would do, it might make
some interesting results but I doubt if it would work as a normal lens,
have you tried holding a lens in front to get an idea of what it would do?
I’m pretty sure your autofocus would misbehave as well. Sorry I can’t be
more precise but I’ve never tried that. All the best Phill

  9. hey , nice review 🙂 I really do like it 🙂 I am thinking about buying this
camera and I wanted to know if it’s worth the money , it would be my first
semi-pro camera 😀 I was always used to point and shoot but now I want
ready to move to the next level 😀
