   Stunned by this tripod! I own several other brands around the price and some cheaper. Immediately blew away the $100-200 range tripods. Comes neck and neck with my other professional pod.
   VERY light
   VERY sturdy
   VERY attractive
   The ball head is smooth and held strong with extra pressure on top of my D800 + 70-200mm VR II. Rest easy. The quick release shoe is so nice I bought an extra (DOLICA Quick Release Plate for Different Tripod (for LS600CX)).
   Many of the most important stances are possible and switching between is smooth and intuitive. It also supports a monopod position (remove the marked leg and screw it on the main shaft).
   The case is well made and fits the tripod with no extra room.

   I even sat my astronomy binoculars (Oberwerk 15x70mm) with negligible vibration! No more lugging around a HEAVY astronomy tripod (although it may be a tad more stable, I couldn’t tell).

   In conclusion, don’t pass up on Dolica or their LS-600CX Nest.

   I was looking for a good solid carbon fiber tripod that folded into a compact size. At less than 5 lbs and 16 in folded, this thing is awesome! The legs and center extension are of equal diameter and are very sturdy, even when fully extended. The ball head is very smooth and locks positively, and the tension-adjustment wheel makes micro adjustments much easier than would otherwise be possible. The built-in monopod is extremely convenient, and is a cost and space saver. This tripod is easily as good as, if not better than, the big names like Manfrotto. Plus, I like having quality off-brand gear that some people haven’t heard of.

   If you’re serious about your photo hobby and quality, or even if you’re a pro, and looking for a good everything tripod system that is lightweight and compact, look no further! The Dolica carbon fiber tripod/monopod is the perfect solution.
