Not compact anymore with interchangeable lenses, you missed the point.
Isn’t there a 5 fps mode?
Forcing the brain to think it’s small is not the answer.
That’s a matter of perspective, vitto. If you handle the Canon EOS 1D X or
Nikon D4 and then handle the Olympus OM-D, believe me – you’ll think the
Olympus is small 🙂
No memory card problems. I’m primarily an action sports photographer so
slow cards are not an issue.
I believe I used the Canon EOS 7D for this video. That was my main camera
at the time, although I occasionally use a review camera to make these
videos.
What kind of video camera was used to film this review?
Sweet review! Thanks!
Written review, with sample photos, is done now. Link to the review page is
in the video description, above.
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it. It’s my longest video yet – too long, in
fact. But I couldn’t figure out how to shorten it any more without
compromising the content too much. I’m working on a short article to
accompany it on the site right now. I’ll add a link for the article to the
description here as soon as it’s done.
Hi, is it true that this camera has problem focusing in low light
situations? I own and love a Canon g10 and I have shoot with very low light
with no problem, but I am worried this new one won’t work for me in low
light because of a review I read . Does it work well ender low light? Hope
you can answer Great review, Thank you
Awesome to see Duane Allman has been reincarnated as a camera reviewer.
I’ll bet his memory card was too slow. (BURST MODE)
Hey John, i’ve just started a photography course using my Canon PowerShot
G1 X that you recently reviewed. For the course I should really have DSLR
camera. Is there anything you can recommend for a first timer that will
carry me through in the long term. Regards Kurtis
Nice review. I am looking for a small camera to go with my dslr the G1X and
Fuji X10 are on my shorlist.
should I get it or wait ? I want to film with it too , how is the auto
focus while filming ?
Hey photo John, great review. Could you comment on how the G1X compares
with other high end Canon compacts such as S95, SX260, ELPH 500, etc in
indoor/low light….thank you
hey john, nice review. You wouldnt say the X10 has a higher IQ? It shouldnt
have, of course, but having used both…what do you think? cheers!
Good review mate, keep up the good work….
Great review, thanks John!
video quality of the g1x was not that good, imo
5:50 New skype message ;D Loved the review, looking at one of these myself.
Great review as usual PhotoJohn… I’m not doubting the G1X ‘s credentials
but that is one seriously ugly camera, I think I would be too embarrassed
to bring that out of my bag in public. For sure it has looks only it’s
mother could love!
